ABOUT 662 BODYBOARD SHOP
The 662 brand was launched in 2003 out of a small garage by Eddie Solomon, a Southern California bodyboarder known for his aggressive, big wave riding at legendary spots like Waimea Shorebreak and The Wedge. He loved bodyboarding, and his tireless dedication to the sport and community was unwavering. When he wasn’t hosting video premiers or charging with his massive crew of sponsored riders, he was developing boards and equipment to aid in the progression of the sport. For close to ten years, he operated several bodyboard only stores and opened one of the first and most successful online bodyboard shops in existence. Sadly, we lost Eddie far too early but the positive impact he left on the sport will never be forgotten.
After Eddie passed away from cancer, his wife, Tamara, continued the business and carried his vision forward. Today, their son, Eddie Solomon Jr.—who was only one when his father passed—is now working alongside his mom in the shop. More than two decades later, 662 remains a family-run bodyboard shop, built on Eddie’s legacy and dedicated to the community he loved.
